What you can use this language package for: * Translating between Nynorsk and Bokmål, including variants: * Default nynorsk variant `nno` is "a-mål" with first person plural "me" * Nynorsk "e-mål" with first person plural "vi": `nno_e` * Nynorsk "e-mål" with first person plural "me": `nno_e_me` * Nynorsk "a-mål" with first person plural "vi": `nno_a_vi` * Morphological analysis of Nynorsk and Bokmål * Part-of-speech tagging of Nynorsk and Bokmål For information on the latter two points, see subheading "For more information" below. [![Build Status](https://travis-ci.org/apertium/apertium-nno-nob.png)](https://travis-ci.org/apertium/apertium-nno-nob) Requirements =============================================================================== You will need the following software installed: * lttoolbox (>= 3.5.0) * apertium (>= 3.6.0) * vislcg3 (>= 1.3.0) * apertium-lex-tools (>= 0.2.5) If this does not make any sense, we recommend you look at: apertium.org Compiling =============================================================================== Given the requirements being installed, you should be able to just run: ```sh $ ./configure $ make $ sudo make install ``` Use ./autogen.sh instead of ./configure if you're compiling from git. Testing =============================================================================== If you are in the source directory after running make, the following commands should work: ```sh $ echo "Eg vil gå ein tur" | apertium -d . nno-nob Jeg vil gå en tur ``` ```sh $ echo "Jeg vil gå en tur" | apertium -d . nob-nno Eg vil gå ein tur ``` After installing somewhere in `$PATH`, you should be able to do e.g. ```sh $ echo "Jeg vil gå en tur" | apertium nob-nno Eg vil gå ein tur ``` The following command runs tests which are on the Apertium wiki page: ```sh $ ./regression-tests.sh ``` Files and data =============================================================================== | File name | Description | | ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ | | apertium-nno-nob.nno-nob.dix | Bilingual dictionary (bidirectional) | | apertium-nno-nob.nno-nob.lrx | Lexical selection rules for translating into Bokmål | | apertium-nno-nob.nno-nob.t1x | Chunking transfer rules for translating into Bokmål | | apertium-nno-nob.nno-nob.t2x | Interchunk transfer rules for translating into Bokmål | | apertium-nno-nob.nno-nob.t3x | Postchunk transfer rules for translating into Bokmål | | apertium-nno-nob.nob-nno.lrx | Lexical selection rules for translating into Nynorsk | | apertium-nno-nob.nob-nno.t1x | Chunking transfer rules for translating into Nynorsk | | apertium-nno-nob.nob-nno.t2x | Interchunk transfer rules for translating into Nynorsk | | apertium-nno-nob.nob-nno.t3x | Postchunk transfer rules for translating into Nynorsk | | modes.xml | Translation modes | For more information =============================================================================== * https://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Installation * https://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/apertium-nno-nob * https://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Using_an_lttoolbox_dictionary * https://wiki.apertium.org/wiki/Constraint_Grammar * http://nn.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikiprosjekt_Maskinomsetjing_frå_bokmål (in Norwegian) Citing =============================================================================== Academic users of this package are requested to cite the following article: ```BibTeX @inproceedings{unhammer2009rfr, address = {Alicante}, author = {Unhammer, Kevin Brubeck and Trosterud, Trond}, booktitle = {{Proceedings of the First International Workshop on Free/Open-Source Rule-Based Machine Translation}}, editor = {Pérez-Ortiz, Juan Antonio and Sánchez-Martínez, Felipe and Tyers, Francis M.}, pages = {35--42}, publisher = {Universidad de Alicante.
