panels give you direct control of inputs to a visual program. 
The control panel included with example1.net, for example, allows you to 
incorporate a colored plane in the image of an object and 
to decide the number of contour lines to be displayed in

menu bar of either the control panel or the Image window.

the pull-down menu. The visual program reexecutes and the colored plane

5. To specify the number of contour lines, click on one 
of the two stepper arrowheads in the  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   number of contour 
lines #!EF interactor (right to increase the number, left to decrease 
it). Since Data Explorer is in  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   Execute on Change #!EF 
mode, the number of contours changes when the number in the 
interactor changes. #!N #!N #!I0 #!N Notes: #!N #!I30 #!N a. 
The second interactor has no effect if the  #!F-adobe-times-medium-i-normal--18*   first #!EF 
interactor is  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   off #!EF . #!N #!I30 #!N b. Depending 
on opacity and other factors, some of the contour lines "inside" 
the object may not be visible. #!I0 #!N #!N #!N #!I30 
#!N 6. Click on  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   on #!EF in the Show MapToPlane 
interactor and then select  #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*   off #!EF when it appears. The 
plane disappears and the original image is restored. #!N #!I0 #!N
