Creating, Modifying, and Deleting Control Panel Groups #!N #!EC #!N #!N
The following describes how to create Control Panel groups, restrict access
(build hierarchies), and specify which Control Panels are open at startup.
#!N #!N Control panel groups are created using the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Control
Panel Group... #!EF dialog box. The dialog box is opened by
selecting the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Control Panel Groups... #!EF option under the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18*
Options #!EF menu in the VPE window ( #!Lppromx83,dxall405 f Figure 83 #!EL ). #!Cbrown

the manual. #!N #!N Figure 83. Control Panel Group Dialog Box
#!EF #!N #!EC #!N #!N The right side of the dialog
displays the list of Control Panels. Associated with each Control Panel
is a toggle button to the left and an ellipsis toggle
to the right. The left side of the dialog is a
list of the existing groups. This list remains empty until a
group is created. At the bottom of the dialog box is
a series of pushbuttons that are used for creating, modifying, and
deleting groups. Clicking on the ellipsis causes the corresponding Control Panel
to be opened (or raised to the front if it is
already opened). Clicking on the ellipsis when it is depressed closes
the corresponding Control Panel and releases the toggle. #!N #!N To
create a Control Panel group: #!N #!I0 #!N #!F-adobe-times-medium-r-normal--18* #!N #!N
#!I30 #!N 1. Select the Control Panels that you want in
the group by activating the corresponding left toggle button. #!N #!I30
#!N 2. Enter the name of the group in the text
field next to #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Group Name #!EF Although it is not
required, select a name that is unique compared to the names
of other Control Panels or other groups. #!N #!I30 #!N 3.
Click on the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Add #!EF pushbutton at the bottom of
the dialog box. #!N #!I0 #!N #!EF #!N #!N #!N The
new group is added to the list of groups displayed on
the left side of the dialog box. The group is also
added to the list of named Control Panels that is displayed
by the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Open Control Panel by Name #!EF option in
the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Windows #!EF menu. #!N #!N Once a Control Panel
group is created, it can be modified. Modifying a Control Panel
group can include changing its name, adding new Control Panels, and
removing Control Panels from the group. #!N #!N To modify a
Control Panel group: #!N #!I0 #!N #!F-adobe-times-medium-r-normal--18* #!N #!N #!I30 #!N
1. Click on the Control Panel group name that is to
be modified. This causes the name of the Control Panel group
to be displayed in the group name text field and causes
the toggle buttons of the Control Panels that are members of
the group to be activated. All other Control Panel buttons are
released. #!N #!I30 #!N 2. You may now change the name
of the group by editing the text field. Add a new
Control Panel by clicking on its toggle button (this causes the
toggle button to be activated). To remove a Control Panel from
the group, click on its toggle button to release it. #!N
#!I30 #!N 3. Once you have made the desired changes to
the Control Panel group, click on the #!F-adobe-times-bold-r-normal--18* Modify #!EF button
at the bottom of the dialog box. This causes the change
to take effect. #!N #!I0 #!N #!EF #!N #!N #!N To
delete a Control Panel group: #!N #!I0 #!N #!F-adobe-times-medium-r-normal--18* #!N #!N
